Artist Statement
I have always found the combination of different elements into a new visual entity to be a compelling way of expressing the complexity of feelings and ideas. Each fragment may carry its own meaning while also contributing to a larger narrative. Digital collage offers an endless canvas and creates space for new ideas to take visual form.
At the centre of my practice is the translation of written text into visual form. I am interested in how ideas, emotions, and narratives can move from language into imagery. Timeless texts and words help me explore meanings and emotions that endure, connecting us with generations before us, their feelings and their essence. The union of text and image allows me to create works that invite viewers to listen to what is usually left unsaid.
In great works of literature, I find themes that are particularly important to me: memory, narrative, reflection, and the passage of time. In visual form, I search for harmony within these ideas, often exploring melancholy as a powerful emotional thread. Faces and silhouettes of writers become recurring motifs in my work, creating a dialogue between literature and image and encouraging viewers to engage in their own reflection.
In a way, I am searching for a form of illustration that moves beyond the literal, toward a space where image and feeling quietly converge.
